OUR OBJECTIVES

Information Communication Technology Local Content Association is a non-profit, non-governmental self-regulating body established by the Information Communication Technology community in Nigeria to manage the Nigeria's ICT Local content SECTOR. The principal purpose and objectives are to achieve AND NOT LIMITED TO the following:

1. Bring together under one umbrella all companies, organizations, associations and practitioners in the field of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and auxiliary services for the purposes of sharing industry information, networking, associating and enhancing the importance and relevance of the Information Communication Technology in all sector of the Nigerian economy and promote the implementation of Local Content policy of the Federal Government.

 

2. To promote and protect the interest of companies, organizations, associations and  practitioners in the field of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and auxiliary services  providing or intending to provide services in the Oil and Gas industry and promote the enforcement of the Local Content Development Act.

 

3.  Encourage the utilization of local manpower and material resources in all sector of the economy and promote the enforcement and implementation of Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act (NOGICD ACT) and other local content policies of the government for the benefit of its members.

 

4. Advise members on appropriate training programmes for persons engaged in Information Communication Technology (ICT) practice for capacity enhancement and keep them abreast of local and global development within the ICT industry.

 

5. Act as a forum for members to network and share their expertise and knowledge and act as an advisory board to new members on what to do to get accepted in the Oil & Gas industry in particular and other sectors of the economy.

 

6. Facilitate cordial relations between members, and Government or such other bodies or organs of Government with responsibilities for and regulating the Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector.

 

7. Organise opportunities for information dissemination through international conferences, seminars, workshops and exhibitions.


8. Enable the local ICT industry to contribute meaningfully towards the achievement of national development targets.


9. Stimulate and increase the production, sales and consumption of high quality information communication technology products and services developed by indigenous companies that serve the unique needs of the local and global market.

 

10. Enable indigenous information communication technology companies and provide them opportunities that will improve their ability to provide relevant products and services that amply satisfy the Nigerian consumer.

 

11. Facilitate efforts to build capacity and equip Nigerians to serve as active workers and participants in the local ICT industry.

 

12.  Provide a framework for the regulation and legislation on the creation, distribution and use of Information Technology and its associations within Nigeria.

 

13. Enable the local ICT industry to contribute meaningfully towards the achievement of national development targets.

 

14. Stimulate and increase the production, sales and consumption of high quality information technology products and services developed by indigenous companies that serve the unique needs of the local and global market.

 

15. Enable indigenous information technology companies and provide them opportunities that will improve their ability to provide relevant products and services that amply satisfy the required ICT services in the Oil and Gas sector.

 

16. Facilitate efforts to build capacity and equip local ICT practitioners to serve as active workers and participants in the Oil and Gas sector.
